This is a great example of a typical call we receive from many building contractors all over Surrey. Peter Court, an experienced property builder from New Haw, came to us for help when he was faced with a problem he hadn’t come across in building new properties:
“I need to achieve 10% of the annual energy demands for both properties to be from a reusable source!”
After discussing various options such as wind turbines and ground source heat pumps, he became quickly aware that not only would Solar Thermal Hot Water look better on the buildings and take up no extra space than planned for, it would be considerably more affordable to install.
With the building effectively being 2 separate properties
under one roof, we couldn’t situate Solar collectors
on the South facing pitched roof as that would have
meant both collectors could only be accessable from
one house. So instead we mouted house ‘A’s
collector on the pitched roof
(see ‘collector illustrations house A’)
And house ‘B’s collector was mounted on
some light frame work on the flat roof directly above
the pitched roof (see ‘collector illustrations
house B’)
When installing the new twin coil solar cylinders,
Peter was also happy that not only did the System not
require any additional space, but it could also be completely
intergrated into his existing mains pressure system
without altering any of the existing heating pipe work
or electric controls.
“I wasn’t sure on these new Solar systems
at first, it was an additional expense to my budget
and needed to find somebody who could get it done properly.
But Im pleased to say that the team from Gotta Go Greena
completed the install professionally and within time
frames that suited our work pattern. The systems are
working well and I’d be happy to use them again
on future projects” |
