CASE STUDIES- Peter Alan, Chartered Architect, 4 Vicarage Rd, Kingfiled, Woking
Peter came to us last winter looking to change his old boiler and thought he’d also consider Solar energy in the process.
We went round to see him at his home and talked about his options. The Alan’s first concerns was “will it work in During winter”? We told him that although our system will do 100% of the hot water needs during the summer months, it will also assist the boiler and sometimes even run completely solo in the winter as well.
On day one of the installation we set about installing his new Solar Collector via the south facing roof which was located at the back of the house. Using scaffold towers we built the collector fixing it into place via the roof rafters and then ran the the arma-flex solar pipe work into the loft space.
Day two saw us take out Peter’s old cylinder and replace it with a Twin Coil Solar Cylinder and Control unit. Due to the way we install the system they are completely interpretable into most heating systems and there for by the time the Alan’s were back from work all there general appliances were still up and running. After completing the commissioning and spending a little time explaining to Peter how his new system worked he later wrote to us some months after saying:
“I thought I would just send a quick word of appreciation for the work your firm did in installing our Solar Heating. An unexpected bonus was mild winter we have had meant we had meant free hot water on many days when we didn’t expect it. Susan and I are delighted with the result, and as you know I have recommended your services to several of my clients“.
