Like many pool owners, Darren had invested in the pool for his family but found it extremely expensive to run. So we designed a system to integrate into his existing pool boiler room in order to considerably reduce his carbon footprint as well as easily save him over £2000 a year on the pools heating bill!!
Each 20 tube collector is designed to generate on average 6.1kWh per day. In his case we were limited on space using the roof of the outhouse as the location for the collectors but with just 4 collectors
(80 tubes) we have managed to generate over 24kWh of energy on a clear day, that's more than your average domestic boiler!
I have had the system up and running now in reasonably clear weather and it has raised the pool temperature by 7ºCentigrade (average outdoor pool temperature 26-27ºC). With the pool cover on overnight I have not even used the gas fired boiler! Many Thanks!
