Incorporating solar heating along side swimming pools is a technology that has been used around the world long before CO2 emission reduction had become such a key issue.
The main reason for this, quite simply the incredible cost effectiveness of the installation. Swimming pools are most frequently in use when the sun's radiation is at its strongest so heating a swimming pool is an ideal solar heating application. Our systems have been used as the primary heat source for many swimming pools, reducing energy costs by thousands of pounds per year as well as reducing the properties carbon footprint by several tons.
A standard domestic pool sized at around 60m2 (8/5/1.5m) can maintain a usable temperature of 29 degrees with as little solar power as 4 solar collectors for the entire summer season.
